Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Institute of St. Louis, Inc. (AAIISTL, Inc.) is dedicated to providing you and your family state-of-the-art care in allergy, asthma or immunologic disorders. At, AAIISTL, Inc., we are committed to providing patient oriented and comprehensive care. Allergies, like many family traits are passed across generations. Having one doctor trained to treat adults and children can be an important factor in obtaining the best medical care for all members of the family.

We offer world-class expertise and the highest standards in diagnostic testing and treatment for allergy, asthma and immunology. Our treatment plans are based upon the latest practice parameters and recommendations in our field as published by the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.

Our Doctor

Elyra D. Figueroa, MD

Dr. Figueroa is a native St. Louisian. She proudly attended Vistation Academy for her elementary & college-preparatory education. She completed her undergraduate studies at St. Louis University. She attained her medical degree at the prestigous University of Santo Tomas, Faculty of Medicine & Surgery in Manila, Philippines. As a true St. Louisian, she returned to St. Louis for her Pediatric internship & residency at St. Louis University at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. She received her fellowship training in Allergy & Immunology at Washington University. Dr. Figueroa is board-certifed in both Pediatrics and Allergy & Immumology for adults & pediatrics.

Dr. Figueroa has a deep and personal passion for children with environmental & food allergies and asthma because of her youngest daughter. She is not only able to educate parents & families but she is also able to share her personal experiences in caring for a child with allergies and asthma. Because Dr. Figueroa and her family suffer from allergies and asthma, one of her greatest strengths as a physician is her ablity to understand the clinical picture from the patient's perspective and to implement a practical treatment plan with an empathetic approach.

Dr. Figueroa is on the AAFA, St. Louis Chapter, Food Allergy Program Committee & she is a member of the Physician Leadership Council for the Midwest Health Initiative. She also volunteers in teaching the SLU Allergy & Immunology Fellows at Cardinal Glennon in the clinic & SLU Family Medicine residents in her office as a clinical faculty. When not working, Dr. Figueroa shares her life with her doting husband, two precious daughters & her loyal Pug.

Dr. Figueroa continues to grow & expand her allergy practice! Dr. Bill Johnson a well-respected & loved allergist is retiring and he has entrusted the care of his patients to Dr. Figueroa. She is honored to follow in the footsteps of a colleague that she has looked up to & admired.

Dr. Figueroa has expanded her practice services to provide new and cutting-edge preventative and restorative dermatological treatments. She is now trained and educated in aesthetic and cosmetic dermatology treatments and procedures to enhance your beauty.
